COVID-19 Update – 24 March

My website has been signposting advice and guidance since the Coronavirus epidemic started (click here).

This is the first blog updating local people on our community efforts to tackle COVID-19. The Prime Minister's statement last night set out how grave the situation facing our country is: it’s important that we all play our part in tackling this virus.

My aim is to keep you informed about how our community, local businesses, and the local council are responding to this pandemic.

It is important that we all follow advice on how best to keep ourselves and our neighbours healthy.

Supporting Local Business

In each of these blogs, I plan to champion a local business that is adapting and needs residents to support it through this difficult time.

Wags and Tales in Surbiton have just launched a delivery offer with their menu items and some essentials.

You can see their offer and how to order here or email hello@wagsntales.com

If you're reading this and want to let us know what you're doing email my office at: sam@eddavey.org

Helping the Homeless

KCAH help many people struggling with homelessness in our borough and are continuing to do so at this critical time for our country.

They have asked that people keep up to date with their social media links to see what they need each day to help local homeless people.

You can do this by following them on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Following Government Guidelines

Last night, the Prime Minister set out the new rules which we must now live by in order to keep ourselves and our community safe. It’s vital we all adhere to them - for our own health and for others.

You can only leave your home:

  • to shop for basic essentials – only when you really need to
  • to do one form of exercise a day – such as a run, walk or cycle, alone or with other people you live with
  • for any medical need – for example, to visit a pharmacy or deliver essential supplies to a vulnerable person
  • to travel to and from work – but only where this is absolutely necessary
