Enter Ed's 'Caring at Christmas' competition

I am delighted to, once again, be launching my annual Christmas card competition, which is open to pupils from schools across the Kingston & Surbiton constituency.

This year’s theme will be 'Care at Christmas'.

Children and young people are free to interpret this in any way they wish – but, as we continue to face the realities of the coronavirus pandemic, I wanted a theme that reflects the support of our families, friends and communities.

There are three age categories and a category for anyone under the age of 19 who has special educational needs:

  • Ages 4-6
  • Ages 7-10
  • Ages 11-15
  • Under-19 SEN

The overall winner will have their design printed as my official 2020 Christmas Card, and will also be invited to have tea with me at a location that's covid secure. There will also be prizes for the winners of each category, with certificates for runners up and all highly commended entries.

The closing date is Friday, 20 November 2020.

Good luck!

Ed

How to Enter

Please send all entries to Ed Davey's Office, at the following address. This can be arranged by teachers or individually:

FAO: Christmas Card Competition
Ed Davey MP
21 Berrylands Road
Surbiton KT5 8QX

All entries need to be received by 5.30pm on Friday, 20 November 2020.

You must also make sure that you write clearly on the reverse of your child's entry, their name, class, school and age category (age is defined as of 1 September 2020). This also allows us to return your child's entry.

Note that due to scanning the winning entry, it must fit on either a piece of A4 or A5 paper, and not contain any glitter or collage. Instead, children are encouraged to use bright colours and light backgrounds to bring their designs to life.

The prizes

The overall winner will see their design used as Ed Davey MP's 2020 Christmas card, plus receive an invitation to have tea with Ed (at a covid secure establishment), a £15 book token and a signed certificate. This winner is selected as the best design from all entries.

The four category winners (Ages 4-6, 7-10, 11-15 and Under-19 SEN) will see their designs printed on the back of Ed Davey MP's 2020 Christmas card, plus each receive a £15 book token and a signed certificate.

The runners up (second and third places) in each of the four categories (Ages 4-6, 7-10, 11-15 and Under-19 SEN) will each receive a signed certificate. Designs that were judged as highly commended will also receive a signed certificate.
